Ash Reid / Felt Events / Tut Vu Vu
Ash Reid, Ilana Halperin, Raymond MacDonald & Tut Vu Vu perform in the Old Fruitmarket.
For her solo set, Ash Reid’s performance will ask questions about exclusion from spaces of performance, the universal term of ‘woman’ and how these actions “can be used to expand upon the other exclusions taking place that are not so easily heard.”
Felt Events refers to the term seismologists use to describe earthquakes. This new piece from Ilana Halperin and Raymond MacDonald explores relationships between geological events and social relationships using saxophone, voice, orchestral musicians, graphic scores and improvisation.
Drawing on a wide range of influences and defying easy categorisation, Tut Vu Vu have been incorrectly referred to as: ‘musique concrète’, ‘vaguely jazz based rhythm with a wayward electronic disposition’ or ‘the love child of David Lynch and Anaïs Nin’. For Tectonics, Tut Vu Vu will perform a newly composed quadraphonic piece exploring electronics, instrumental rhythm and spatial sound.
